Verzuz is becoming a battle for R&B supremacy as legends Case and Carl Thomas set to go head-to-head in a battle of catalogs that while have ladies and men alike in their respective living rooms drinking brown liquor our of a red cup. Both singers helped define the sound of early-2000s R&B, making this a matchup built for fans who remember when love songs ruled the radio.
The matchup follows August’s Verzuz showdown between Joe and Donell Jones, keeping veteran R&B singers in the spotlight. Case and Carl Thomas bring a compelling mix of nostalgia back when shiny suit Ma$e was still a thing. As long as Carl Thomas finds a way to sneak his vocal stylings from this song into the battle it should be close.
The showdown is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the action live on Apple Music, Complex and Verzuz’s official channels.
