John P. Kee is not feeling the division online surrounding Kirk Franklin’s collaboration with GloRilla.
Kee spoke with Hip-Hop Wired after his performance at Praise 102.5’s Praise In The Park, sharing his thoughts on Kirk and Big Glo’s latest record.
“I’m from the hood so you can’t really ask me because I’m not gonna line up with some of these religious preachers that just wanna soundbite. Kirk has been consistent, that’s what he do. He’s reaching some folk that are not coming to your 9 o’clock, or 10:30 a.m. service. Leave Kirk alone, let him rock.”
Many people agreed with Kee’s statement in the comments, with one user writing,
Kee made it clear that he’s rocking with Kirk and Glo, period. This marks the second collaboration between Franklin and the Memphis rapper. Their first came on GloRilla’s 2025 album, GLORIOUS, on the sing “Rain Down On Me.”
John P. Kee performed alongside Mary Mary, Tamela Mann, Lisa Knowles Smith, and many others at Praise In The Park 2026.
With Kirk continuing to bridge the gap between Gospel and Hip-Hop, Kee believes there’s no reason to question the rapper and producer for reaching a different audience.
