Madonna has nothing left to prove as one of the top-selling female artists of all time. This year’s MTV Music Video Awards showcased the icon, who notched several awards and nominations, but it appears her time at the event had some hiccups.
Madonna, 68, was nominated for 13 awards at this year’s VMAs, which the always-working Snoop Dogg hosted. Madge opened up the event with a performance en route to taking home seven Moonman trophies amid stars she most likely inspired.
What has folks chattering online is that Madonna, whose Confessions II album was a commercial and critical success in 2026, is that each time she took the stage, some moments caused some alarm among viewers. At one point, when accepting the Best Dance award for Confessions II – The Film, Madge actually didn’t know what the honor was for.
There was also an uncomfortable moment where the “Like A Virgin” star motioned that she was pulling something out of her rear end. She later cleared up the oddness of the moment by explaining that she had, quote, a “laser up my ass” during the opening set.
Along with winning the Artist Of The Year VMA, Madonna also won for Best Collaboration, Best Dance, Best Cinematography, Best Choreography, Best Long Form Video, and Best Album, with the last two awards part of the Social Category grouping
