Live Wire is back with an exclusive conversation with rapper Yung Manny.
During the ONE Yard HBCU Tour, Live Wire stopped at Bowie State University and sat down with Yung Manny to talk about his rise in Hip-Hop.
The Maryland rapper revealed that he wasn’t always vocal about making music. In fact, both his mother and sister found out he was making music through a YouTube search. While balancing his music career, Yung Manny also attends Bowie State University, where he’s majoring in business.
“I always used to think I couldn’t be as big as I wanted to in music if I was in school because I would have to give all my time perfecting my craft.“
Faith plays a major role in Manny’s day-to-day as he balances his education and promising rap career. He also explained why attending an HBCU was important to him.
“You get to see people like yourself, people that grew up like you, and people that got goals like you do. I just hope my journey can be a bit inspiring for another student.”
Yung Manny sat down with Rodney Rikai before his ONE Yard performance, where he was asked how he balances being Yung Manny the artist with being a college student.
“I always tell people like this, I put on my pants the same way y’all do, one leg then the other. I ain’t no different than y’all. I come here to get my work done.”
