Kevin Hart’s 2017 sex tape scandal apparently didn’t get the memo that it was supposed to stay in the past.
Nearly a decade later, the whole mess could be dragged back into court, with Montia Sabbag, the woman in the video with Hart—potentially being called to testify.
According to TMZ, Hart is currently fighting with his former assistant, Miesha Shakes, over a non-disclosure agreement. Hart claims Shakes violated the NDA by discussing his personal life during an interview with a blogger.
Shakes disagrees. Her argument is essentially: You can’t complain about somebody talking about your business after you’ve already talked about your business yourself.
And now she wants Sabbag to talk, too.
That could reopen one of the ugliest chapters in Hart’s career.
In 2017, Hart and Sabbag had sex in a Las Vegas hotel room where cameras had allegedly been secretly installed by a former friend of Hart’s. Hart initially suggested Sabbag was involved in an extortion attempt, something she vehemently denied.
Two years later, Sabbag sued Hart for $60 million, alleging she had been recorded without her consent. Hart denied the allegations, and the lawsuit was eventually dismissed.
Now, according to Yahoo Entertainment, Shakes is arguing that Hart’s own behavior—including the sex tape controversy—helped damage his reputation.
Hart says Shakes damaged it.
Shakes wants to testify. She also wants Hart to testify. And she wants Sabbag questioned about the video and everything that followed.
Because apparently, nine years later, Kevin Hart still hasn’t finished talking about a sex tape he probably wishes everybody would forget.
